THE VALUE OF HUMAN READABLE DEEDS - CREATIVE COMMONS

-- The Pros:

  • They are trying to say that they were making the terms to protect the account holders readable legal information.
  • They state that with the terms it would ensure the rights of the people.
  • They came up with CC lecenses which many users have adopted to.

-The cons:

  • because of the terms, it caused confusion and frustrated acount holders.
  • CC's licenses still leaves people unsure of where the metadata would leave their infomation.

BBC NEWS "FACEBOOK 'withdraws' data changes"

- From BBC News there are comments which are talking about the privacy of peoples personal information on a social networking website called "Facebook."

- The Pros:

  • The terms of service that have been updated helps people that delete their account to still have comments that have been commented on other peoples pages.
  • This makes users more aware that their information is not so private and to ensure their privacy, they have to learn not to leave too much information online.

- The Cons:

  • The terms of service are invading personal privacy and peoples rights
  • They are going back on their word with the terms people have signed up for.
  • The changes that facebook tried to make caused many people to lose faith with personal belongings left on their account.

The Pros:

  • The executive of facebook tries to ensure people that the account holders are the ones that own and control their own account information.
  • They try to state that the terms they have came up was was unclear, what they meant was information such as: comments would still be lefted on other accounts that were commented by the user that had just deleted their account.

The Cons:

  • Although the executive state that whatever is on the website is controled by the account holder, but it does not refer to the fact that they have changed the terms.
  • This caused useds to terminate their account to show their opposition to the new terms that were made.
